Mobile Mammography Unit Mobile Mammography Unit is one of the projects of the Thanyarak Foundation under the Royal Patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Srinagarindra with the objective to expand screening mammography services for women in Bangkok and surrounding areas. Screening mammography, one of the most effective methods for preventing breast cancer, is a screening exam for those without symptoms, similar to an annual health check-up.
Currently, the Mobile Mammography Unit of the Thanyarak Foundation provides services to various organizations upon request and participates in charitable activities with government and private agencies in Bangkok and surrounding areas, increasing opportunities for working women to receive breast cancer screenings.
The Mobile Mammography Unit is equipped with advanced diagnostic tools, including a mammography machine and ultrasound machine, and is staffed by radiologists and medical radiation experts specializing in breast imaging. This ensures that the quality of diagnosis is equivalent to that provided at the Center.

I.C.C. International Public Company Limited donated a Mobile Mammography Unit with the latest version of Full Field Digital Mammography technology to the Thanyarak Foundation under the Royal Patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Srinagarindra. This marks the occasion of His Majesty the King's 80th Birthday Anniversary of King Bhumibol Adulyadej and becomes the first mobile unit with this latest technology in Thailand and Asia.
The latest Full Field Digital Mammography Mobile Unit, the first of its kind in Thailand and all of ASIA, boasts superior technology and image quality due to eliminating film processing. The Digital-Detector Direct Conversion system provides complete, clear images on a high-resolution screen, enabling radiologists to analyze mammograms in greater detail and compare them to previous mammograms. Additionally, this technology promotes environmental sustainability by eliminating the need for chemical processing of films. This Full Field Digital Mammography was donated by I.C.C. International Public Company Limited under the Wacoal brand name, along with contributions from other sponsors.

As the first mobile Unit, in operation for around 7 years and requiring frequent repairs, neared the end of its service life, in 2015, the Thanyarak Foundation procured an additional Digital Mobile Mammography Unit to improve operational efficiency. This coincided with the 20th anniversary of the Foundation, established by Her Royal Highness Princess Srinagarindra. The procurement of the new unit aims to fulfill her wish to fight against breast cancer in underprivileged Thai women, providing knowledge and treatment services. It also allows for the collection of clinical data on new patients for ongoing research studies, such as identifying risk factors and high-risk groups for breast cancer or evaluating Automated Breast Ultrasound (ABUS) as a potential screening method comparable to mammography while reducing wait times at the Thanyarak Breast Center.
