  • Let's get to know about breasts Let's get to know about breasts for educational purposes and understand the normal condition of breasts, so that we can early detect and identify if there is any unusual change or abnormality.

Breasts consist of glands and adipose tissue between the layers of skin and the chest wall. The adipose tissue determines both the size and shape of the chest. During the breastfeeding period, these glands produce milk that passes through milk ducts to the nipple. Therefore, the mammary glands and ducts will be larger during this period. Moreover, breasts also consist of blood vessels and lymph vessels. Lymph vessels carry waste products that the breasts excrete to pea-sized tissues called axillary lymph nodes. These lymph nodes are responsible for filtering and cleaning the lymph.
