The Thanyarak Foundation, under the royal patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Srinagarindra, established the Thanyarak Breast Center at Siriraj Hospital in collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital. The center provides comprehensive breast cancer treatment services and serves as a training hub for doctors and medical personnel in breast cancer diagnosis. This place is fully equipped with cutting-edge and internationally standardized tools and technologies and has become Thailand's first breast cancer center with a Quality Control and Quality Assurance (QC&QA) System in place. Furthermore, the center is also staffed with expert radiologists, nurses, and radiographers to ensure service quality. As a result, the Thanyarak Breast Center attracts many visitors and garners interest from private and public hospitals to send their physicians to study and observe at the center. Additionally, in partnership with the Faculty of Medicine at Siriraj Hospital, the center conducts research on relevant topics to advance the prevention and treatment of breast cancer in Thai women.
Upon the establishment of the Thanyarak Breast Center, Her Royal Highness Princess Srinagarindra gave instructions to Dr. Tamnit Ansusinha, the project founder and secretary of the foundation, who later became the chairman of the Thanyarak Breast Center: "Utilize advanced and proper healthcare technology at Thanyarak Center and pledge to equal care for all."
The Thanyarak Breast Center has adopted these two royal instructions as our operational commitment. The center’s work comprises of comprehensive breast diagnosis service using advanced and international standardized tools and technologies with a Quality Control and Quality Assurance (QC&QA) system in place. The center also comprises of a system for storing mammogram result and cancer status reports of service users for retrospective analysis, determining statistical indicators, and comparing the data (Medical Audit) to continually improve service quality. The center becomes the first in Thailand to have a system for assessing and monitoring patients’ mammogram results. Additionally, the Thanyarak Breast Center has expert radiologists, nurses, and radiographer who are dedicated to providing quality service. As a result, the number of service users increases every year.
Thanyarak Breast Center extends its role beyond patient care by providing specialized training programs for doctors and medical staff in diagnosing breast diseases. These programs benefit the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital staff and personnel from other public and private hospitals, attracting numerous physicians and radiologists annually for educational purposes and clinical observations. Additionally, the center collaborates with the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital to conduct research focused on breast cancer, aiming to advance prevention and treatment methods for Thai women as well as partners with the Ministry of Public Health to organize the "Thai Women Free of Breast Cancer" project, carrying on the royal wish of the Late Princess Mother.
